The Federal Government has declared April 19 and April 22, Friday and Monday respectively as public holidays to mark the 2019 Easter celebration.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs Georgina Ehuriah, announced the holiday on behalf of her boss, the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen . Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), on Wednesday in Abuja.
Dambazau tasked all Christians to imbibe Jesus Christ’s exemplary attributes of tolerance, sacrificial love, peaceful co – existence, among others.
He charged Nigerians home and abroad to use the celebration to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country, notwithstanding the diversity in religious beliefs.
Dambazau wished Nigerians a happy and peaceful Easter celebration.
He went on to call on them to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to take the Nation to the next level .
